Essential oils for aromatherapy

Essential oil is a scented oil that can be obtained from flower or fruits. Essential oils are usually used as basic ingredients for making cosmetic products. In addition, the oil is also often used for aromatherapy, because the fragrance can provide a relaxing effect and also help to reduce anxiety. As quoted from Medical News Today, here are some of the best types of essential oils to overcome your anxiety.

  1. Bergamot orange, which can be obtained from the peel of the fruit of Citrus bergamia. Bergamot orange is very popular to be used for aromatherapy. A study in 2015 found that bergamot orange oil can reduce anxiety in mice. Another study conducted in 2013 also found that inhaling the fragrance of bergamot orange can reduce the anxiety of someone who is waiting for a small operation.
  2. Chamomile, besides being brewed to make tea, chamomile can also be used for aromatherapy. Based on the results of a study conducted by the National Cancer Institute, giving massage using chamomile oil to cancer patients can help reduce their anxiety and other symptoms.
