Which first, breakfast or exercise?

Sometimes we are confused in deciding which is better, having breakfast first before exercising, or vice versa. Breakfast can provide additional energy for us to be able to exercise. However, exercise before breakfast is considered more efficient in burning fat in the body.

The latter statement is supported by the findings recently published in The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism. The researchers found that exercise before breakfast can improve one's health, burn more fat, and help control blood sugar levels by increasing insulin sensitivity in the body.

In their study, the researchers compared three groups of participants. The first group were those who had breakfast before exercise and the second group was the opposite. The third group became the control group,and each participant continued their life as usual. The exercise is moderate cycling. This study lasts for 6 weeks.

The result, although there was no difference in weight loss, those who exercise before breakfast had a better insulin response, which caused their blood sugar levels to become more stable. This can help reducing the risk of diabetes and heart disease. In addition, the researchers also explained that exercising before breakfast is more efficient at burning fat contained in fat and muscle tissue. This certainly can be the right choice for those of you who want to have the ideal body weight.
