Benefits of exercise in preventing cancer

Most people know the benefits of exercising. The physical activity is known for its benefit in maintaining a healthy body, both inside and outside. There are many types of exercises that we can do, from mild exercise such as walking, yoga, gymnastics, cycling to strenuous sports like weight lifting.

Besides being able to help burn calories and maintain ideal body weight, exercise can also increase the body's metabolism. There have been many studies that prove that exercise can prevent various diseases, such as diabetes, heart disease, to cancer. Recently, some experts claim that exercise can prevent and help relieve symptoms during cancer treatment.

The experts made a guide for those who have a history of cancer or risk of the disease. In the guidelines, experts recommend that you undergo aerobic exercise at least 30 minutes 3 times a week. Not only mild exercise, these guidelines also recommend combining it with strenuous exercise, at least 2 or 3 times a week.

In these guidelines, it is stated that exercise can help increase survival rates for people with breast, colon and prostate cancer. Exercise can also contribute to preventing bladder, breast, colon, oesophagal, kidney, stomach and uterine cancers. The experts explained that exercise could help prevent those diseases by reducing inflammation, maintaining a controlled weight, and boosting the immune system.
