Benefits of carrot juice for your body

When we talk about the benefits of carrots, the first thing that comes to our head is that it can help maintain eye health. We all know that carrots contain lots of vitamin A, which is really good for your eye. Carrots can be consumed in many ways, including as a juice. Aside from maintaining eye health, it turns out that carrot juice has many other benefits.  Reporting from Healthline, here are the benefits you can get from carrot juice.

  • Highly nutritious. Carrot juice is rich in protein, carbohydrates, fibre, vitamins A, B6, C, K, and potassium. Vitamin A contained in one glass of carrot juice is equal to 255% of our vitamin C daily needs. Apart from that, carrot juice also has lots of antioxidants.
  • Maintain eye health. Thanks to the content of provitamin A carotenoids such as beta carotene, carrot juice can give you lots of vitamin A, which is very important for maintaining eye health. Studies show that the intake of fruits or vegetables containing provitamin A can be associated with a lower risk of blindness and age-related eye disease
  • Improve immunity. Vitamins A and C in carrot juice can act as antioxidants that can protect immune cells from free radical damage. In addition, vitamin B6 also contained in carrot juice can also help optimise the body's immune response.
  • Anti-cancer effects. Studies show that beta carotene and lutein contained in carrot juice can help fight leukaemia cells.
  • Maintain blood sugar levels. Consuming carrot juice is known to help lower blood sugar levels. Carrot juice has a low glycemic index, making it good to help maintain blood sugar in people with diabetes.
  • Maintain healthy skin. Carrot juice contains vitamin C, a water-soluble nutrient needed to produce collagen in the body. The beta carotene content in carrot juice can also protect the skin from damage caused by UV exposure.
