A 'big' breakfast can help burn more calories

For most people, having a good breakfast is a good way to start the day. Yes, breakfast can give you extra energy to start your day. Not only that, but breakfast can also help you to maintain your appetite by reducing the risk of overeating. However, some people, especially those who are trying to lose weight, choose to avoid breakfast.

However, instead of increasing weight, it turns out that breakfast actually can help burn calories in the body. According to the results of a recent study conducted by the University of Lubeck, researchers found that a high-calorie breakfast can help burn calories twice as much as those who prefer to have more dinner. The results of this study have been published in The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism.

During the research, the researchers evaluated 16 men. Each participant was asked to consume a low-fat breakfast and a high-fat dinner, and vice versa, for three days. To find out how well the body processes food that enters the body, the researchers usedthe diet-induced thermogenesis (DIT) method. The method can help to find out the glucose levels, hunger, and the desire of each participant to consume sweet foods.

The researchers found that the DIT rate was 2.5 times higher shortly after breakfast compared to after dinner. This shows that the body's metabolism is more active after breakfast. Also, high-calorie breakfast is associated with lower hunger, as well as the desire to consume sweet foods. Researchers also found that insulin levels and blood sugar were lower after breakfast than after dinner.
