St. Andrew's Community Hospital, or sometimes known as SACH, is a rehabilitation hospital that is located on Simei, Singapore.
St. Andrew's Community Hospital (SACH) is a community service of St. Andrew's Mission Hospital.
Established in 1992, SACH was the first hospital in Singapore set up to provide affordable rehabilitative and intermediate care. In April 2005, we moved to a purpose-built 11-storey, 200-bed hospital in Simei, and became the first community hospital to be located next to an acute-care general hospital – Changi General Hospital (CGH). This close proximity with CGH helps to facilitate better coordinated and integrated care for SACH patients, and the sharing of services. In December 2014, SACH, together with CGH, expanded our services into a jointly developed new facility, The Integrated Building, which is located next to the SACH main building. From there, our expansion of services include the provision of a larger Day Rehabilitation Centre and increased number of wards and rehabilitation spaces and facilities.
SACH is focused on providing inpatient rehabilitative and sub-acute care for adults and children after the acute phase of treatment at a general hospital. Our outpatient services and facilities include Day Rehabilitation Centres, primary care service, community therapy service, home care service, and a Senior Care Centre.
Community hospitals play an important role in providing continuing care for patients, particularly the elderly, upon their discharge from acute care general hospital. SACH aims to promote recovery and help patients get back to their best possible function in order to minimise the burden and anxiety of disability and dependence.
