Rumah Sakit Pusat Otak Nasional, or sometimes known as RSPON, is a brain hospital that is located on Kramat Jati, Jakarta, within the Province of Jakarta Special Capital Region. Problems in the health of brain and nervous system (neurology) in Indonesia is becoming more complex and the number of cases is also increasing. The incidence of stroke is increasing from year to year, even based on the health research (Riskesdas) in 2007 organised by the Ministry of Health, stroke is one of the major causes of death and disability in almost all hospitals in Indonesia. Therefore, the Government established RSPON that is expected to be a brain and nerves hospital that is comprehensive, hoping that it could be a model or pilot in handling neurological cases in Indonesia.
