For most people, breakfast is an important thing to start the day. Yes, breakfast can give you extra energy to start daily activities. Not only that, but breakfast can also maintain your appetite and reduce the risk of overeating. This certainly can help you in maintaining and losing weight. As quoted from Medical News Today, here are some tips on choosing the breakfast menu that can help you lose weight:

  • Choose foods rich in fibre
    For those of you who want to have ideal body weight, foods rich in fibre is the best choice. The body needs more time to process fibre, so you will also feel full longer. Besides being able to help you lose weight, fibre-rich foods can also reduce the risk of diabetes. Oats, brown rice, avocados, apples, broccoli, spinach, and kidney beans are good sources of fibre.
     
  • Consume more protein
    Consumption of protein can help you to lose weight. The study shows that a diet high in protein can make you feel 'full' faster. You can also help the process of burning calories in the body when you consume protein. Foods such as eggs, Greek yoghurt, milk, almonds, and tuna are good sources of protein.
     
  • Avoid high-calorie foods and sugary drinks
    To have ideal body weight, maintaining calorie intake is something that must be considered. The high calories that enter the body can increase the risk of obesity. Avoid foods and drinks that are high in sugar such as pancakes, pastries, and processed fruit juices.

    Processed foods are usually made as delicious as possible to improve the taste of the basic ingredients. To help the process, sugar and salt usually added in these foods. Instead of consuming processed foods, fresh foods are much better for your body. For example, for those of you who like bread, pasta or bagels, you can replace these foods with whole grains that have more fibre in them.
