Cancer is a disease characterised by the uncontrolled growth of body tissue cells that turned into cancerous cells. One of the cancer types that is quite common is breast cancer. Not only women, men can also suffer from this disease. Living a healthy lifestyle and diet is known to help keep cancer away. - Green vegetables, such as kale, spinach, arugula, and mustard greens,are known to have anti-cancer properties. Green vegetables are a good source of carotenoid for the body. The content of beta carotene, lutein, zeaxanthin, and folate in green vegetables has been shown to help reduce the risk of breast cancer in several studies.
- Citrus fruit is rich in compounds such as folate, vitamin C, carotenoids, and flavonoids that can protect the body from breast cancer. These compounds can provide antioxidant, anti-cancer, and anti-inflammatory effects.
- Fatty fish, including salmon, sardines, and mackerel, are rich in omega-3 fats, selenium, and antioxidants that can protect the body from cancer. The results of studies have also proven the efficacy of these fish in helping reduce the risk of breast cancer.
- Berries are rich in flavonoids and anthocyanins that can help protect the body from cellular damage and prevent the growth and spread of cancer cells, including breast cancer.
- Fermented foods, such as yogurt, kimchi, and miso, contain probiotics and nutrients that can protect the body from the risk of breast cancer. The probiotics contained in these foods are known to help boost the body's immune system.
- Allium vegetables, including garlic, onions, and leeks, contain organosulfur compounds, flavonoid antioxidants, and vitamin C, which have anti-cancer properties.
- Peaches, apples, and pears have been scientifically proven to help protect against breast cancer. The antibiotic content in them can help suppress the growth and spread of breast cancer cells.
