Human beings seem to never tire of looking for ways to lose weight. Starting from sports, food, to lifestyle, everything is explored to find an instant way. Until this very day, nothing instant and healthy have been discovered. That doesn’t mean that the effort is all for nothing. Throughout the years, numerous tips and tricks have been discovered to make losing weight easier. One of them is hibiscus flower.
A study performed by Chung Shan Medical University Hospital in Taiwan shows the link between hibiscus flower and losing weight. A clinical test was done on a group of obese people between 18-65 years old.
Half of the volunteers consumed a hibiscus pill, and the rest got a placebo. The first group has a significantly decreased waist circumference, body fat level, and blood glucose level compared to the second group. This study has been published in Food & Function Journal in April 2014.
Does this mean that hibiscus flower is a “magic pill” of losing weight? No, it is not. But consuming it daily can help you to maintain or slowly lose weight. Besides that, hibiscus is also rich in antioxidants, eliminating free radicals from your body.
