Many people use 'painkillers' to relieve the pain they feel. However, if they are consumed in the long term, they may cause some damage to other parts of the body such as liver, kidneys, and even brain. To avoid this, aside from chemical medicine, you can take ‘natural painkillers' that could be found in your kitchen. As reported from Boldsky, here are some natural ingredients that help you to relieve pain.
- Ginger, since it contains anti-inflammatory agents which mitigate pain caused by muscle aches, stomach and chest pain, arthritis, and pain during menstruation. Also, ginger is known for its benefit to dose infections of the respiratory tract and to relieve coughs and migraines.
- Tart Cherry, a fruit that we often find in cakes. Besides its delicious taste, people rarely know that it may be used as painkillers. Tart cherries contain antioxidant compounds that reduce inflammation. The effects of this fruit is even more effective than aspirin, according to research conducted by Michigan State University.
- Cloves, which have anti-inflammatory compounds, antioxidants to anti-bacteria that salves the pain in teeth and fight infections in the mouth area. Cloves contain the active compound Eugenol which acts as a pain-reliever that alleviates nausea and headaches.
- Turmeric, containing a compound of Curcumin that acts as an anti-inflammatory which could be used as a remedy for pain in the muscles, back, toothache,and even inflammation. Also, turmeric has other uses, such as antioxidant, antifungal, and antibacterial.
- Peppermint is discovered to have therapeutic properties that ease off the muscle aches, headaches, toothaches, and nerve pain. Peppermint leaves could help to lessen cramps by relaxing the muscles and nerves.
